VP Marketing

The Vice President of Marketing will be responsible in promoting the SMSA brand in the Sprott, Carleton, and Ottawa community. The successful candidate will be responsible for the SMSA’s communication and marketing strategy and will contribute to SMSA’s organizational strategic planning process. The VP Marketing will work closely with the President to maintain SMSA's professional brand image. The successful candidate will also will be an ambassador for the organization in building relationships with other the other marketing executives in the Sprott community.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Working closely with SMSA executives to recognize internal and external communication opportunities and solutions.

  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to enhance SMSA’s brand towards broadening the organization's awareness and visibility to students.

  • Managing social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Email, Web Design (Wix)

  • Managing the operations of the Director of Content and Graphics and Director of Brand Development.

  • Coordinating with Conference Co-Chairs to develop marketing campaign and image for Sprott Marketing Conference

  • Coordinating with VP Events to develop marketing collateral for events and initiatives throughout the academic year

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat)

  • Familiarity with web design platforms (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace) and graphic design platforms (Canva, Photoshtop, Illustrator, InDesign ) is preferred  

  • Active involvement with the Sprott and Carleton community and student life

  • Time management, organization, and communication skills

  • Ability to think creatively on the spot and meeting tight deadlines

  • Ability to handle and provide constructive criticism and rejection

  • Ability to be creative, open-minded, reliable, and committed

  • Current/previous leadership and team management initiatives are considered an asset
