VP Marketing

The Vice President of Marketing will be responsible in promoting SMSA in the Sprott, Carleton, and Ottawa community. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in crafting SMSA's promotional calendar and social media strategy throughout the academic year. This is an excellent opportunity for a student looking for leadership experience while putting their skills in developing a successful marketing strategy to the test! 

Weekly time commitment: 5 hours


  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to enhance SMSA’s brand with the goal of broadening awareness and visibility to Sprott students.

  • Coordinate with VP Events to develop marketing collateral for events and initiatives throughout the academic year

  • Manage SMSA's content calendar for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Email, Web Design (Wix)

  • Managing weekly tasks for the Content Creation Specialist and Social Media Specialist


  • Recommended for a Third Year Student

  • Creativity, open-mindedness and reliability

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills

  • Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok)

  • At least one year of experience using Canva or other graphic design software
